The Sound Story Experience

    Our newest assignment has been to create a sound story, which was a completely new experience for me and my group member Aaliyah. The sound story is supposed to be able to tell a story to the audience with no visuals (aka sound accompanied by a lovely black screen), which I thought was a really cool concept. This project's goal is to show us how important and impactful sound is in film, even though we may not notice it. Focusing a project on simply sound allowed Aaliyah and I to really appreciate the mass amounts of efforts that go into making sound, editing sound, etc.       When coming up with a concept for the sound story itself, Aaliyah and I half had a few ideas that we ran through before coming up with the one that we ended up using. My Horror Themed Mood Board

     In class, our next assignment was to create a mood board based on our favorite film genre (also one that we might be considering for the video that we have to create). I am a really big horror/ suspense movie fan, especially ones like The Conjuring or the Saw  movies. I decided to do a horror based mood board since I was already a huge fan of the genre, plus I think it could be a really good genre to focus on for the video for our project for this class.  My mood board: For my mood board, I decided that one of the best ways for me to create it was to include some of the more recognizable movies and characters in the horror industry, as well as some of my favorite. For the characters, I included Pennywise from the film It! , Samara from The Ring , Chucky, Michael Myers from Halloween , and more.
